Founded in 1902, Winchester Optical is the oldest company among the top labs in the United States. We are a family owned and operated company. Our goal is to provide personal service and materials of the highest quality for eye care professionals. Both of our laboratories are in New York State, but we serve customers in the mid-Atlantic states. Winchester Optical Medical Optics prescriptions are filled for eye care practitioners all over the country.
Winchester Optical is a contract laboratory for the Vision Service Plan and the Pennsylvania VBA. We are an authorized Varilux® laboratory and have an in-house Crizal® coating facility. Our home office is located near Corning and has participated in the development of Corning’s photochromic and high tech lenses. We welcome glass prescriptions. Our specials lab grinds some of the most complicated prescriptions in the world.
Our labs feature the latest optical technology. In addition to our Crizal® coating facility, our Elmira lab is equipped to fabricate digitally surfaced lenses. We feature the Seiko Succeed line of free-form progressives.
Our contact lens lab features the Hi-Expectations gas perm multifocal, developed at Winchester Optical to extend the range of contact lens add powers.
The success of our customers is a top priority for us. We have assisted many offices in setting up safety eyeglass programs with local industries. Staff training, office design, educational seminars, and consultations are some of the other ways we provide help for our customers.
